How to Make Gold Out of Polymer Clay

There are several ways to make traditional Indian Jhumka earrings, but the most cost-effective way is to use polymer clay. You can follow other methods if you want, but they will cost you more money. So, I have decided to use the most affordable method to complete this task.

You will need some oven-hardening modeling clay for this project; I am using the golden color. I am also using a tool called a female kit or a female starter kit; you can easily buy them from your nearest store.

How to Make Gold Out of Polymer Clay-2

In order to make earrings out of clay, you first have to take a small amount of clay and warm it up in your hand. Once it is soft, you need to make it into a small ball. After that, you can start the next process.

To make a paper airplane, start by folding a piece of paper in half lengthwise. Then, squish it with your finger and bring one end to a point so that you create a sort of teardrop shape. Next, divide the rounded edge of your teardrop shape in two. Finally, fold down the top two corners of your paper to create wings.

After cutting out your teardrop shape, use the sharp edge of your tool to cut along the midway point. This will give you a heart shape; you have to separate them slightly. Then use your finger or a tool to turn this into a more refined heart shape.

Now that you have made the hart shape, you need to attach some earring posts. In this case, I am using flat posts. I am positioning one of the posts as far towards the top of the hart as possible without it showing on the other side. I am adding a little pressure to make sure the post is attached perfectly.

For the other earring, follow the same process. Once you finish that, you can bake them in your microwave. Follow the recommended heat from the manufacturer. And then your earrings will be ready.

Final Thoughts

Follow the same process for the other earring. Once you complete that, you are ready to bake them inside of your microwave. For this, follow the recommended heat just as the manufacturer suggests. And that’s it; your earrings will be ready then.
