How to Make Glowstone Dust

It provides more light than torches, so your exploration will be easier and safer! Glowstone dust is a vital component of any potion brewing, but it can be difficult to make. In this blog post, we will go over how to make glowstone dust and what tools you will need to get started.

10 Ways on How to Make Glowstone Dust

1. With a Bucket!

You can use a bucket of lava and a water bucket to make the lava solidify into glowstone. This is highly inadvisable in Survival Mode; however, since you need Obsidian for that, which is only obtainable from mining Hellstone or creating it from Water and Lava. On the other hand, in Creative Mode this works like a charm, and it’s easy to get tons of Glowstone this way.

2. In the Nether

Another way to make Glowstone is in the Nether, where you can find Soul Sand. Then, when you have Soul Sand and a pickaxe, right-click on the block to turn it into Glowstone Dust.

3. With a Furnace

You can also use a furnace to create Glowstone Dust. All you need is some Netherrack and a piece of coal. Place the Netherrack in the bottom of the furnace, and then put the coal on top. The furnace will start burning, and after a little while, the Glowstone will form on the side of the furnace.

4. With a Map!

You can use an actual map in your inventory to create Glowstone Dust. Right-click on it while holding some Blaze Powder, and it will turn into Glowstone Dust. This is only possible with maps crafted from Paper and a Compass; however, you cannot make any map this way without the proper ingredients!

5. With a Brewing Stand!

Place a Bottle, Glass Pane, and Nether Wart in a tier 3 brewing stand, and then activate it. You’ll get two Bottles of Potions of Healing, which will turn into two bottles of Potion of Night Vision when you break them. This can be done with any tier 3 brewing stand, not just the one in the Nether.

6. In a Dispenser!

You can also use a dispenser to create Glowstone Dust. All you need is a bucket of water, some Blaze Powder, and a dispenser. Put the water in the bottom of the dispenser, and then put the Blaze Powder on top. When you activate the dispenser, it will shoot the water at the Blaze Powder, and the Glowstone Dust will form.

7. With a Lily Pad!

You can make Glowstone Dust with a Lily Pad in any body of water. Just right-click on the Lily Pad with a piece of coal, and the Glowstone Dust will form.

8. With a Cauldron!

You can also make Glowstone Dust with a cauldron. Just put a bucket of water in the cauldron, and then put the coal on top. The cauldron will start boiling, and after a little while, the Glowstone will form on the cauldron’s bottom.

9. With a Minecart!

You can use a minecart to create Glowstone Dust, too. Put one piece of resistance track in the crafting area and add one block of stone on top of that for a Powered Minecart.

Then throw a piece of Redstone in the last slot for an Activated Minecart. Activate it, and it will go zipping around, zapping everything in its path, including the stone block. After about a minute or so, it will form Glowstone Dust on the track!

10. With an Ender Chest!

Finally, you can do this with an Ender Chest. Put some Glowstone Dust in one Ender Chest and any other item in another Ender Chest. Then, take the contents of the first Ender Chest out and put them in an Ender Pouch. After a few seconds, it will turn to Glowstone Dust!
