How to Fix Skullcandy Ink'd Earbuds

With this blog post, we will be giving some tips on how to fix them without having to go out and purchase a new pair. This article is going to teach you how to fix Skullcandy ink’d earbuds problems that people may encounter with their Skullcandy Ink’d earbuds. Skullcandy ink’d earbuds problems can occur when the user does not maintain their earbuds properly. The most common problem is that the user does not clean their earbuds regularly, which can lead to a build-up of ear wax and other debris.

Common Reasons Why Skullcandy Ink’d Earbuds Have Issues

1. Sweat damages the earbuds.

Earbud headphones, if exposed to excessive sweat over several months or years of use, can develop an issue between the connector and the cord. When this happens, you’ll notice that sound only plays out of one side and not both. Often, the sweat can cause corrosion that breaks the contact between the headphones and your device. Even if you’re not a heavy sweater, you should still avoid getting water or sweat on your earbuds. Even though there are waterproof headphones available, the average pair isn’t built to stand up to regular exposure to moisture.

2. Headphone jack issues.

Another common issue with headphones is the old headphone jack wearing out and not being able to fit a plug into it. What happens is that the plastic on the port wears away due to heavy use and just won’t allow your headphones to fit snugly anymore. This will cause an issue while you’re listening. While you will be able to hear your music, you just won’t get any bass out of it. Now that you know about these issues, you should be able to fix them easily. Simply use a can of compressed air to blow out the dirt and debris from your headphones jack. You can also take a cotton swab and gently clean around the area.

3. Using the headphones in a humid environment.

Another issue that might plague your Skullcandy Ink’d be earbuds, and other earbuds are using them in a very humid environment. If you live somewhere very humid or just sweat a lot, this can cause problems when using earbud-style headphones. It’s not uncommon for people who run to find their headphones to start acting up after several months of use. Humidity and moisture in the air break down the internal electrical components of earbuds, which is why they’re not recommended for use in a high-stress environment (such as running outside while sweating profusely).

How to Fix Skullcandy Ink'd Earbuds

First, you need to unscrew the screws and take apart the earbuds. The screws are located on each side of the headphones. You’ll need a T8 screwdriver for this. Then test out how your speaker works. If it doesn’t work, then you will have to replace it. If it does work, then you can move to step 2.

Take off the metal covering that is over your actual earbud piece and take out the foam inside of it as well. You’ll need a pen or a small rod to pop this off (make sure not to break anything). This step is to repair the piece that goes in and out of your ear. The metal casing on top of it should come off once you take out the foam. How this case comes off will vary, mine came right off with some force, though.

Once you have everything apart (if needed), start taking off the old speaker. How you do this will vary heavily from model to model, so you’ll have to figure it out yourself. With my earbuds, however, I needed to use a screwdriver in order to pry off the speaker (very carefully, of course). The old one should come right off now since the new one is ready to go on.

Put the foam back in and then screw everything together. How you put it all together will depend on what type of Skullcandy earbuds you have, so be sure to know what your headphone brand model is. A great way to find this out is to look at the Skullcandy earbuds you have and compare them with other headphones.

Once it’s all back together but the metal casing back on, plug your headphones in and test if they work! If they don’t, then check if there are any loose wires or not. If so, then you need to take it apart again and re-wire your headphones back together. How you do this will vary depending on what type of Skullcandy earbuds they are, though the basic idea is the same everywhere.

Lastly, if your headphones still don’t work, then you will have to replace the earbuds entirely. How that works is you take apart the old earbuds and get a new pair of those. Depending on what Skullcandy earbuds you have, they can be very similar or completely different from older ones are.

How to Clean Skullcandy Ink’d Earbuds?

Cleaning your earbuds is a great way to prevent them from getting damaged. How you clean your headphones will vary depending on what they are made out of, but the basic idea is the same for anything: turn them off when cleaning, use very little soap and water in order to keep your headphones from being damaged by water and take extra care in order to keep your headphones looking new.
